Features

Ruminants are able to use different protein sources thanks to the physiology of their stomach. Feeding on grass, fodder and concentrates of low nutritional value does not always satisfy the nutritional needs of ruminants; for this reason the diet should be enriched with an adequate addition of non-protein nitrogen compounds (NPN).

Urea is a simple compound that contains 46.7% nitrogen. The ability of microorganisms in the rumen to use these NPN sources to form true proteins that can be converted into meat and milk by animals provides a significant contribution to the human food supply.

ALBI NPN is a granular product composed of urea coated with a matrix of minerals and fats. The solubilisation kinetics of ALBI NPN guarantees greater safety and better use of nitrogen thanks to the slow release favoured by the coating. Nitrogen will thus be more available to rumen bacteria and protein synthesis will be more efficient.

Plus of product
  • Lower protein cost
  • Slow release urea products resulted in higher efficient rumen fermentation
  • Increased microbial protein synthesis
  • Lower levels of urea in the blood, and later in the milk
  • Decreased risk of intoxication by urea
  • Higher productive performance (milk, meat) at lower cost
